There is something special about every season! You have your choice of relaxing by the pool, strolling on country roads and trails, or historic exploring and fine dining. What to do?

Walking and Hiking

We are situated in the Dufferin Hi-Lands Bruce Trail region and only minutes away from multiple trail entry points. The fabulous Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is also on the Bruce Trail and just 10 minutes south of us. Let us help you pack a lunch to enjoy a day of hiking. Sit down or pick up lunches are available from local restaurants too. For those who would prefer to leave the car at home, there are private trails nearby. Exploring History

Dufferin County has a wealth of interesting history which is grounded at the Dufferin County Museum and Archives. We’re lucky to have this asset so close to us you could almost walk there, well almost! Visit the Museum to help locate other points of interest or hang out there for one of the many scheduled events and expositions. It’s always an interesting visit.

Horseback Riding

Some of the nicest people have ranches! We have come to know the local equine folk and have discovered we are in the heart of horse country. You can get riding lessons or go on a trail ride for the western experience. Be sure to book riding in advance.

Downhill or Cross-country Skiing

Whether you are looking for downhill or cross-country, you’re in the right place. Mansfield Ski Club in minutes away and offers numerous downhill runs. Mansfield Outdoor Centre is also just up the road and offers fabulous cross-country trails and other activities. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing can be done on and just off of our property.

Farmers Markets, Local Food and Events

We’re also in the heart of local food country. Go in any direction to find multiple outdoor and indoor markets.

Woodfield Farm Market is less than 5 minutes away and carries regional confections, treats and farm raised meats. Wonderful foods to take home for gifts or just for you!

Creemore Farmers Market is just 20 minutes away and surrounded by galleries, your choice of sever restaurants and coffee shops, or perhaps a tour of the Creemore Springs Brewery.

Orangeville Farmers Market is 25 minutes south on the prettiest main street in Ontario.

There are home décor shopping one-of-a-kind finds too. GRANNY Taught Us How in Violet Hill is a shopper’s paradise offering the practical, the unusual and the hard to find, in a historic building since 1978. Pop in to the Olde Stanton Store for folksy art, interesting crafts, nifty gifts you’d never think of and clothes you just don’t find anywhere.

Pubs, Cafés and Fine Dining

Mrs. Mitchell’s Restaurant has been famous since 1980 and has not lost its touch as a regional favorite. Just 3 minutes away and reservations are highly recommended.

The Globe is in nearby Rosemont and has a storied past. It has been newly renovated and also offers wonderful meals as does the Rosemont General Store and Café across the road.

The Public House located in the nearby quiet hamlet of Terra Nova, is a favourite spot for the locals. Only 10 minutes north of us and well worth the drive.
